Description:

Parameter Value Qualifier (PARVQ) is a coded value qualifying the analytical results field (PARVAL).  The following list details the most commonly used PARVQ codes. Note that in general, the PARVQ does not indicate QC failures or deficiencies such as accuracy, precision, blank contamination, or holding time violations. The fields LAB_QC_FLAG and PRIME_FLAG exist for the purpose of adding additional data qualifiers, as needed.

Regarding PARVQ and the Uniformed Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plan (UFP-QAPP):

Contractors should report consistent with the guidance in the most current Quality Systems Manual (QSM).

If the reported result is a "Non-Detect", report parval=0 and MDL = LOD.  Report LOQ for RL.

If the reported result is a "Trace", report the estimated value and MDL = DL.  Report LOQ for the RL

Definition

ND

Analyte was not detected. Enter 0 (zero) for the parameter value (PARVAL).

=

Represents both the qualitative and quantitative, unqualified, presence of an analyte, at the reported level, above the reporting limit (RL).

TR

Qualifies an analyte present at an estimated concentration above the method detection limit (MDL) and below the reporting limit (RL).

>

Used in situations where the laboratory reports a quantitative value exceeding the linear range of calibration. The concentration is an estimated value. Exceptions to this rule apply for reporting results of ignitability and flash point. Contact ERPIMS Data Support if clarification is needed.

C

Estimated maximum possible contaminant level (EMPC).

CE

Estimated or questionable value due to co-elution.

S

The value reported has been determined by the Method of Standard Addition.

TI

Tentatively identified compound.
