ASTM Soil Classification Code is a coded value used in ASTM classification of unconsolidated deposits. Deposits possessing characteristics of two groups are designated by combinations of group symbols (e.g., SPSM). The predominant group shall be entered as the second 2 character code (e.g., SM is the predominant group if SPSM is entered in the field.)
