About ten years ago, Synectics created an online repository of technical publications as a demonstration project for our web-base document management capabilities. Within a short amount of time, this resouce library became a standard reference source for environmental professionals around the world.

Our repository is now the largest web-based environmental data management system on the Internet and encompasses large data sets including a wide variety of data types, reporting tasks, and application areas. The primary role of this data warehouse is to enable researchers to share knowledge and mine data from within very large and complex data sets.

In addition to storing data and description files, we also archive task files that describe a specific analysis, house planning documents, laboratory reports, well construction diagrams and decision documents in PDF format. Many other document types and formats (doc, xls, zip, jpg, …) are accommodated as well, all of which are able to be queried using a full-text search interface.
